Rotary International

We especially seek current or former leaders of businesses and the professions who would enjoy our friendship and that of other Rotarians nearby and around the world.

The Rotary Foundation

Rotary International President Arch Klumph’s idea for an endowment fund dedicated to “doing good in the world” planted the seed of The Rotary Foundation in 1917. Thanks to his vision and staunch advocacy, and the extraordinary generosity of Rotary members worldwide, that fund has become one of the world’s leading humanitarian foundations with current assets exceeding $300 million.

Signature Mission

The Rotary Foundation’s signature project since 1984 has been the eradication of polio throughout the world. Rotary has been joined by key partners over the years (The World Health Organization; The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) and now finds its mission has nearly ended the disease except for a small region in the Afghanistan Mountains.

Preserving the Environment

As of 2021, Rotary International has shifted its focus to preserving the environment worldwide. It is the responsibility of all local Rotary clubs throughout the world to contribute financially to its causes. From the first donation to the foundation of $26.50 in 1917 to the continued support offered by our own club members annually, the Rotary Foundation continues to transform the gifts given into service projects that change lives around the world.
