While I was born in Wahoo, Nebraska (yes, that’s actually a place) and grew up a Cornhusker until I was 18, I came to Indiana in 1982 for college and have lived in Indiana almost every year, since. I love South Bend, I moved here in 1998 and consider it my hometown.
I joined Lake City Bank in 2000, the same year I joined South Bend Rotary. I tried to jump in and get involved at Rotary; I was a sitting duck for Pete Owsianowski to sucker me into chairing the golf committee for three years. It was hard work but I was then privileged to join the board in 2005, it was truly a launching pad for the numerous board positions I’ve been entrusted with over the years. I was President of SB Rotary in 2009/2010 and have been board chair of seven other organizations, since.
That’s a lot of stuff for a guy who thinks he’s still 39, but I’ve got a lot of energy and I’m still excited about South Bend and believe that South Bend Rotary ain’t done yet. We have a role to play in our great community and re-joining the Rotary board would be a great opportunity to double-down on that important mission.
